The goal of the Mayne Island Recycling Society is to provide a comprehensive recycling service to the Mayne Island community.
This includes maximizing participation in recycling, educating the community in waste resource use and management, and fostering concepts and practices of conservation through a non-profit organization.

Fall hours at the depot
The final Friday of the summer season at the recycling depot is coming up next week!
We will be OPEN Friday September 4th from 10am to 2pm.
Following that, we're back to our Fall-Winter-Spring schedule:
Wednesdays 10am-2pm
Saturdays 10am-4pm
Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional recycling dropoff time remains the same:
Wednesday 2pm-3pm
We will be OPEN Friday September 4th from 10am to 2pm.
Following that, we're back to our Fall-Winter-Spring schedule:

Due to some mechanical issues with our hard-working truck, we are not currently offering backhaul services.
40 years of recycling on Mayne!
2025 marked 40 years of recycling on Mayne! We celebrated the anniversary with:
- a float in the 99th Mayne Island Fall Fair in August
- a volunteer appreciation dinner at Black Cardamom Restaurant in October
