​October saw the return of Recycling’s Volunteer Appreciation Dinners. It was a fantastic event with over 65 current and former volunteers in attendance celebrating 40 years of recycling on Mayne Island. Held at the Black Cardamom restaurant, the food was exceptional.  We were fortunate to have two of the depot founders, Ron Pither and Ron Willick present, both of whom gave us some history of the organization. And the spirit of Ann Johnston was present as well. Bill Warning, our current president, thanked our fabulous current volunteers who do so much to keep the depot open. We have always been a volunteer driven organization and are thankful for all the volunteers who have contributed so much to the depot over the 40 years of our operation.
